THE CONTEXT |
India is among the top most emerging markets for organized retail. Various industry projections expect the share of organized retail to grow from 4% to 10% by 2010.
This summit will provide a platform for exchange of meaningful discussion between various players in the Retail industry in India. It will bring together practicing managers in the various critical Retail functions – Supply chain, IT, HR, Operations, Customer Care etc. This group of people and the respective business heads, CEO’s and Managing Directors will provide an insight in the best practices, as well as some pitfalls that can be expected and thereby avoided by Retailers. |
| |
SUMMIT OBJECTIVES: |
|
Provide a common ground, for exchange of potential winning practices in the emerging Retail environment in India. This summit will work under the paradox, that since this is a new domain in India, almost every player is new, and hence groping to find the right solutions. It is with discussions, and exchange of ideas, that more clarity will emerge. It will bring in a perspective from current senior stake holders in the field – the company managements, the vendors who are looking to serve this emerging sector, and the executives who are looking to make a career in Retail. It will bring together expertise from all areas of Retail – Supply Chain, Merchandising, Locations, IT, HRM, Customer service etc. All participants should be able to go, with a feeling of deeper understanding of their environment, opportunities and ideas. |
